Privacy policy
Last updated: November 1, 2026
LocalCutVideo is built so that your videos never leave your device. This page explains plainly what is processed, and where.
In short
No upload: your videos, audio and transcripts are processed in your browser and are never sent to the publisher or to anyone else.
No account, no cookies, no analytics, no advertising.
What stays on your device
The video and audio files you open are read directly from your disk. Analysis, transcription (Whisper), face tracking and export are computed locally by your browser.
Your projects (cuts, transcript, settings) are saved in your browser's local database (IndexedDB), along with a thumbnail and a cache of analyses. The publisher has no access to them. You can delete a project from the projects page, or erase everything by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.
Local storage
The application stores your interface preferences (language, theme, last opened project) in your browser's local storage, and keeps its own files and the downloaded AI models in the browser cache so it can work offline. These are strictly necessary for the service, are never used to track you, and therefore require no consent banner.
Server
The server only delivers the application's files and keeps no access logs. Like any web server, it technically receives your IP address to answer requests, but does not store it.
Third parties
Hugging Face: the Whisper model is served by this site, like the rest of the application. Only if it is not available here is it downloaded from huggingface.co instead; Hugging Face then receives your IP address and standard browser information, but never your audio. See their privacy policy .
GitHub: only if you follow a link to the source code repository.
No other third party is contacted: a strict Content-Security-Policy technically prevents the page from connecting anywhere else.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, rectify and erase your data, and to object to its processing. As the publisher holds no data about you, there is usually nothing to access, but you can ask any question at [email protected] . You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL ( cnil.fr ) or the data protection authority of your country.
Changes
This policy may be updated when the application evolves. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
